Snooker Night 2015

We hosted our annual snooker night on Saturday 3rd October 2015 in the Inn Off Snooker Club in Renfrew.  It was another fantastic night, approximately 12 in attendance.  The food was great, the quality of snooker not so much! (mentioning no names obviously).  It was a clean sweep from Barry's invited guests, with Gavin once again taking home the trophy in the main tournament, and his old man Alan taking home the "Diddy Cup" winners trophy.  Thanks go to all who attended the night, and to Alastair Taylor for organising the night itself, lived up to its usual high standards!

Sportsmans Dinner 2015

Another very successful year at the Glynhill Hotel where Renfrewshire Referees Association hosted their annual Sportsmans and Awards Dinner.  A trememdous night had by all once again, roaring with laughter at the speeches of former Category 1 referee Bobby Tait, and ex-footballer John Gahagan.

Referees of all levels were nominated to receive awards for their services to the association, or in recognition of their refereeing achievements.  Also we managed to raise money for our nominated charity Diabetes UK, which was very close to the hearts and lives of some of our members.

Sportsmans Dinner 2014

Our sportsmans dinner was once again held at the Glynhill Hotel in Renfrew, where an excellent meal was followed by recognition of some of our members for various achievements within the association, congratulations to all of them!  We then had three excellent speakers in Willie Young, former Catgeory 1 and FIFA Referee, Mark Hateley ex-Rangers striker and the Scottish comedian Tam Cowan.

A fantastic night was had by all of those who attended, and we managed to raise a significant amount of money for two local charities, nominated each year by the members in the association.

Sportsmans Dinner 2014

On Thursday 17th April, Renfrewshire Referees' Association will be proudly hosting another Sportsmans' Dinner at the Glynhill Hotel, Renfrew.  The evening is to recognise the hard work and dedication shown by our referees over the previous year, but also to come along and have a great laugh and enjoy our guest speakers, who this year will be former top level referee Willie Young, ex-Rangers star Mark Hateley, and comedian Tam Cowan.  This promises to be another incredible night, which will raise money for two excellent local charities as well!
